Jaguar Mark II

This 1965 Jaguar Mark II was delivered to a distributor in Spain when new and was acquired by the seller 49 years ago in Tulsa, Oklahoma, reportedly from its second owner. Power comes from a 3.4-liter straight-six paired with a 4-speed manual transmission, and the car is equipped with overdrive, wire wheels, and rear fender spats. Refurbishment during the seller’s ownership included rocker panel replacement, a repaint, retrimming the interior in grey leather, and more.The car was reportedly fitted with new rocker panels and lower fender sheet metal from Martin Robey prior to being repainted in a color described as whiter than its original cream. The chrome bumpers wear overriders, rearview mirrors are fitted to each fender, and an antenna is mounted on the passenger side. Chips in the paint, bent grille slats, a cracked front turn signal, and other blemishes are shown in the gallery below.The factory chrome knock-off wire wheels are mounted with tubeless radial tires, though tubes are in fact also used due to the design of the wheels according to the seller. The tires are noted to be at least 12 years old, though new tubes, rim bands, and valve stem protectors were reportedly installed using a copper and hide mallet in April 2018.The interior was originally trimmed in blue according to the Heritage Trust certificate, but was reportedly grey upon the seller’s acquisition in 1970. The car features factory three-point seatbelts up front. New G.W. Bartlett/OSJI leather upholstery was fitted in approximately 2012. The original wool headliner has been replaced with dark blue vinyl, and the rubber door and window gaskets have been changed. The seller notes that the Furflex trim around the doors shows its age.Smiths gauges are mounted in a burl wood dashboard and include a 5-digit odometer showing approximately 58k miles, with actual mileage unknown. The seller notes that the radio and interior lights are inoperative, while the heater lever is stuck in the cool position.The 3.4-liter straight-six features twin SU carburetors that are said to have been serviced by Tom DeWitt Auto Restoration in 2016. The 4-speed manual transmission has a non-synchronized first gear and is mated to a Laycock de Normanville electrically-actuated overdrive unit.A new galvanized tank is also said to have been fitted during the fuel system work.
