This 1978 Cadillac Eldorado Custom Biarritz Classic is one of approximately 2,000 examples produced for the 1978 model year only, and it currently shows 4,800 miles. It is finished in Arizona Beige with Demitasse Brown Metallic accents over Light Beige and Dark Saddle two-tone Sierra Grain leather. Power comes from a 7.0-liter V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and the car is equipped with a Light Beige partial landau roof, 15″ steel wheels, body-color wheel covers, four-wheel disc brakes, Twilight Sentinel automatic headlights, power-adjustable Dual Comfort front seats, a rear window defroster, automatic climate control, cruise control, power windows, and an AM/FM stereo with an eight-track cassette player.All Eldorado Custom Biarritz Classic examples were finished in Arizona Beige (62) and then modified by American Sunroof Corporation with work including painting the hood and roof in Demitasse Brown Metallic (64), fitting a Light Beige partial landau roof with opera lamps, and interior headliner and rear window treatments. Additional exterior features include brown pinstriping, a power antenna, remote-controlled side mirrors, fender-mounted light monitors, cornering lamps, and chrome bumpers. The power-adjustable Dual Comfort front seats and rear bench are trimmed in Antique Light Beige and button-tufted Dark Saddle Sierra Grain leather. Woodgrain trim adorns the dashboard and door panels, and amenities include automatic climate control, cruise control, a rear window defroster, Twilight Sentinel automatic headlights, a power trunk lid release, power windows and door locks, and an AM/FM stereo with an eight-track cassette player.The leather- and wood-trimmed tilting and telescoping steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer and a fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 4,800 miles. The clock works intermittently.The 7.0-liter V8 features a four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 180 net horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to the front wheels through a Turbo Hydra-Matic three-speed automatic transmission.The 15″ steel wheels feature body-color covers and are mounted with Nexen N’Priz AH5 tires measuring 235/75. Braking is provided by power-assisted disc brakes at all four corners. The Eldorado featured a torsion bar front suspension and a coil-sprung solid rear axle along with Electronic Level Control and power steering.
